Timur Kim SS13 @ Vauxhall Fashion Scout

This show was a reason for me to get really excited. I was familiar with Timur Kim's Fall 2012 collection from his CSM MA show, so I couldn't wait to see what he had up his sleeve for the upcoming season.

To get more in tune with his style, the first six pieces were presented like an introduction into what he already is known for : use of denim in different shapes, resulting in a collage of material , cut and designed to perfectly flow on the body. Dresses, shirts, trousers and skirts were the result of stripes of denim fabric put together, demonstrating ingenious patchwork.

The show continued in a more airy and light note with silky materials, maxi dresses and a very relaxed elegance was captured with the next pieces that hit the catwalk.

White lace details and beautifully delicate flower prints completed the collection of Timur Kim's spring-summer vision.

Carlotta Actis Barone - SS13 @ Vauxhall Fashion Scout

First day of London Fashion Week kicked off with Carlotta Actis Barone's SS13 collection show. Now if you don't like orange, consider yourself warned, as the next images will make your pupils dilate.

Carlotta's SS13 collection was very bright and colourful, with feminine curves, some tailored pieces, HUGE hair and feathers. The incredibly cute ballerinas, that popped out at the beginning of the show set the scene, greeting the public into the vivid world of Miss Barone.

Some of the nude bodysuits I have seen in her previous AW12/13 collection were worn by two of the ballerinas only now they came in musical notes prints and a far happier mood. The feminine vibe was completed by the use of crinolines in the make of some of the dresses, that helped accentuate the body line and feminine silhouettes.

Hair and make-up made you think : is this Marie Antoinette meets Alice in Wonderland?  type thing. However the highlight of the collection was the end piece, the silk orange evening gown with feather details floating down from the right hip was a true statement of elegance and design and brought the collection back to a deeper level.

LFW AW 12/13 Corrie Nielsen

You might think that after McQueen's Highland Rape show, nobody would have the talent and courage to use tartan in a collection and have a successful ending. But on the morning of February 17th Corrie Nielsen proved otherwise. She designed an extraordinary Scottish-inspired collection that is wearable, elegant and a true statement of sculptural silhouettes.

Combinations of black and white and black and red tartan, black voile ruffles, folded and overlayered material composed a truely beautiful and feminine collection. I shouldn't even have to mention the headpieces that the models were wearing - magnifique! Sound of singing bagpipes filled the room as the gorgeous garments were presented on the catwalk.

The waiting is over ....... here is Corrie Nielsen's Scottish dream
