Today, the 14th of February, on a cold, cold Valentine's Day I made my way to SCOOP - an international tradeshow, the only one of it's kind in the UK, to see the latest AW 2012/13 collections.
The wonderful event took place at the Saatchi Gallery in London , what made it even more special, given the gorgeous surroundings and amazing building. I tried to walk and take a close look at all collections and stands from one gallery to another. Unfortunately not all of them were happy with me taking photos so I can't show you everything. The more reason for you to go and check out to next show on your own!
All exhibition stands were carefully observed and analyzed by the potential buyers that were swarming the galleries. Exchange of business cards , little presentations and meetings were being held at every corner. It is the first tradeshow event of this kind, that I attend and because I want to follow a Buying career in the future I found the whole experience very useful and interesting.
This being the third edition of SCOOP International I must say I am pleasantly surprised by the presence of so many famous, well-established brands like : Orla Kiely, Patrizia Pepe, Day Birger et Mikkelsen, Byblos, Filippa K and that only in the womenswear department. As for accessories - you could find Coccinelle handbags, Givenchy, Pucci, Valentino, Vivienne Westwood and Kenzo scarves, Nicole de Rivals handmade bags and so much more. Those are only a few names from the list of 150 contemporary collections present at the event.
