Vauxhall Fashion Scout - Carlotta Actis Barone AW 12/13

Growing up in a very creative environment, having a visual artist as a mother and a writer as a father, it was no surprise that Carlotta Actis Barone chose her path in life to create, design and make beautiful garments. She is known for her revolutionary and critical spirit when it comes to any intolerance in society. Through her collections she tries to bring awareness upon important social problems from the past and present.

She has graduated from Central Saint Martins with a BA degree in Fashion Print and also worked for designers like Moon Young Hee, B.C.B.G Max Azria Manoukian and Balmain and as a freelance designer for capsule collections at Stella McCartney, Qasimi and Ammaya by Pryianka.

Her AW 12/13 collection was presented in a very dramatical, mysterious and sober atmosphere. On a floor filled with white smoke that surrounded both guests and models, her garments simply floated on the runway. The orchestral music, the lingering walk of the models, the pale faces, black makeup and  ravaged hair made you understand that is not just a catwalk show , it is a message in movement.
