My final year work is a reflection of me. It is what I went through over the past 3 years. It is surreal. I like when people dress differently and even daring sometimes. Clothes for me are reflections of the personality. One of the main details in the collection I'm working on right now are the shirting sleeves as they are clean, simple and beautiful, yet can be restricting and twisted. The dress I've created for the GFW show has 20 sleeves in total. It is a circle voluminous dress with sleeves of different lengths placed all over. Each sleeve can be used and can be twisted and tightened, thus each time you wear it , you can style it your way depending on your mood. It is a very wearable piece as the sleeves are not very noticeable and they lay in-between the volume of the dress, however it has this twist and it is almost a garment that can be personalised. My final project is mostly focused on knitwear and different techniques of machine knitting. My collection tries to bring together knitting and draping, the natural look and feel of knit with metallic draped fabrics in order to create a contrast. Everything is held together by touches of sportswear style like in oversized collars, cuffs, hoods and ribbings.

"Queens" is my final year project and Arbus' photography was my main inspiration for it. The confidence and strength I wish to see in a woman wearing my clothes I found in the faces of Diane Arbus' freaks. I noticed that the young, the old and the strange in her pictures were dressed like queens and princesses and that is what I wanted to explore in my collection. I wanted to make garments that didn't necessarily look royal but had an unassuming glamour and a humble allure that would make the  woman wearing them feel like queens.

I have watched old Japanese films and I could find interesting shapes of the costumes and materials in the films. Consequently, my work for the final year is "Myth of the samurai". Personally, I like experimental design with extreme colours and new materials because clothes are a part of our life. Accordingly, if I create an interesting design, people can keep a connection between aesthetic pleasure and the day-to-day. Therefore, in my final collection I will use new types of mohair with man-made colours and beautiful beading with contemporary materials. (I.M graduation catalogue)

My research for the final collection was based on developing new fabrics through different manipulations. Changing structure of initial materials by knotting, felting and melting inspires me to create multi- textures garments. The whole concept of the collection is to find surfaces that would be perceived differently for everyone. However silhouettes keep easy and comfortable. sophisticated and modern. I started my research exploring various respiratory systems such as fish, birds, mammals and amphibians and used the difference between then as an inspiration for shapes, details, construction of the garment and different types of materials. I then carried on the research by looking at the anatomy of the human body, which made me think deeper about the concept of the human visualisation: the outer layer of a person comparing to the inner one, which can be falsely perceived by another. And the notion that comes from the assumption that a person can not really connect with another because the feel of existence is so unique and strange that it could not be shared. There for my goal was to express visually and realistically the one thing that all humans have in common - anatomy. I decided to show this invisible content by the use of medical illustrations as prints, use of layers in the construction of the garment as well as details mimicking different features of organisms. My final year collection is a menswear collection inspired by India. I have taken inspiration from the vibrant Indian colours and prints, which are a crucial part of my design aesthetic. This collections has also taken inspiration from the military and it encompasses the feelings and emotions of strength, daringness and a sense of no fear in it.
