Ashley Isham's SS13 collection was taken out of a fairytale with beautiful, delicate and elegant princesses. Flower prints, fabulous embroideries and trims, baroque details, lace and some cutting-edge leather belts to accentuate the waistline were all present in this collection.
Taking his inspiration in the Orphism movement and French-artist Sonia Delaunay, the uber-vibrant colours were no surprise to be floating down the catwalk on these beautiful dresses. The collection was inspired by the sophisticated professional woman who is modern yet feminine and appreciates the finer detailing. (Press Release)
Yes people it was all in the DETAIL. You cannot appreciate this collection to its full potential if you haven't focused on the details.

However glamorous, there was still something missing. Yes the dresses were beautiful and yes the details were lovely but I just felt like I was witnessing three-four collections all at once. Couldn't really feel that natural, organic flow of a seasonal collection that I was used too. It might have been because at one point the music stopped and we were presented with a capsule collection of satin dresses in very bright colours that ended the entire show (coming out of nowhere).
