Carlotta Actis Barone AW13 - Fashion Scout

The AW13 collection, inspired by the works of Italian born artist Manuela Corti, marks the maturity phase of Carlotta Actis Barone as a designer. It is my personal favourite from everything I have seen so far (from the last four seasons I have attended her shows). The designer's creativity was focused more on sophisticated, elegant silhouettes and extravagant fabrics this season. The contrasting textures emphasize the sensuality and femininity of the female body. Shapes and textures tell the story of the intricate female mind, which makes women so fascinating and mysterious.

The fabrics are assembled as a contrast between flowing (the soft pleated nets), the semirigid (the faux leather), in-between the transparent (the fine nets) and the opaque (the thick jerseys and wools).
